HEARTS & HANDS FOOD PANTRY is one of the only fully independent nonprofit food pantries in North Carolina. Their low-barrier, easily accessible services ensure that anyone can receive help for as long as they need it. Although it can be hard to imagine, thousands of our neighbors in the greater Lake Norman region continue to face food insecurity. Through every challenge, HATL has remained a steady source of support to Hearts and Hands providing emergency relief during the global pandemic, multiple natural disasters, soaring food prices, and even a shutdown of federal funding. 

Recently the pantry was forced to relocate from their former Huntersville site into a new 7,000-square-foot facility. This expanded space has enabled them to reach more than 100,000 underserved individuals throughout the greater Lake Norman community. Hearts and Hands was one of HATL’s annual gala recipients in 2025. HATL has made multiple grants continuing to strengthen the pantry’s ability to meet rising needs, such as a Mobile Pantry home-delivery program. This vital service ensures homebound individuals and those without transportation much needed meals.
