Charity Beneficiaries: Power Cross and Hearts and Hands

Our annual Halloween Gala is always a sold-out event and perfectly embodies the spirit of HATL’s Circle of Hope. This special evening brings together donors, charity partners, business sponsors, and board members for a night where we truly put the FUN in fundraising!

Months of preparation go into gathering generous donations from community businesses to create an incredible silent auction. Guests are welcomed into the elegant ballroom of Trump National Country Club, where they mingle, enjoy cocktails, and place their bids. As the auction closes, guests are treated to a spectacular sit-down dinner in a ballroom so delightfully spooky—even Casper might gasp!

The night’s excitement is hosted by Larry Sprinkle, beloved Charlotte celebrity and Master of Ceremonies. Larry kicks off the evening by introducing our charity beneficiaries, followed by one of the most spirited live auctions you’ll ever witness. Past auction items have included luxury trips to Africa, private limo and wine dinners for ten, and even a mountain getaway in Boone!

Once the final bid is placed, the fun continues as the DJ opens the dance floor—and don’t forget to strut your stuff for the Best Costume prize!

In 2025, the Gala proudly supported Power Cross and Hearts and Hands as our charity beneficiaries. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and guests, this year’s event raised over $200,000, helping HATL meet the immediate financial needs of our charity partners throughout the year.

Because the event is fully underwritten by our incredible business sponsors, 95% of all funds raised go directly to our charity partners—ensuring that your support makes a direct and meaningful impact in our community.
