Although HATL’s mission is to support local nonprofits with immediate financial needs, our Board could not overlook the devastation Hurricane Helene brought to Western North Carolina on September 27, 2025. The storm ravaged entire communities with catastrophic flooding, landslides, and destructive winds.

 

Recognizing the urgency, our Board quickly mobilized members and neighbors to gather essential emergency supplies.  Fortunate to have access to a private plane, our board members were able to fly multiple flights directly into the hardest hit areas delivering much needed supplies.

In addition, we partnered with Samaritan’s Purse and dedicated a portion of the evening’s donations to supporting families impacted by the storm. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to provide immediate and critical funding to our neighbors in Western North Carolina.
